Mawloc!...the Second!

After 3 solid days of working on this guy he is finally done. He was the quickest to paint of the 3 mega monsters coming in at about 10-12 hours. I can't believe I have cut the painting time in half on these guys from my first Trygon. To be fair though I didnt go as detailed on the brown carapace on this guy as I did the Trygon.

After getting all that I have done over the last 3 weeks (10 Hormagaunts, 2 Venomthropes, 2 Tyrant Guard, a Swarmlord and this Mawloc) I am getting very close to being totally done. All I have left to paint is one more Hive Guard, a Tervigon *shudder* and the "extra" termagants that the Tervigon creates, then I am 100% finished painting Tyranids and I will start something new. On a side note I added everything up that I have fully painted and it comes out to a very respectable 3500pts before upgrades. Next up is FOR SURE THIS TIME! the Tervigon as I have procrastinated by painting pretty much everything ELSE in the entire army before it lol.

Looks good-as all of your stuff does.

When do we get to see the army shot? :)

I think once I finish my Tervigon I am going to take the Army down to the local GW store and do a couple of good army shots. I did lay the whole thing out after I finished my Mawloc and I didnt realize just how big the army is lol. Thanks for the comments btw :)

Looks great! Was going to request an army photo as well.

What are you planning to use for the Tervigon conversion?

I am just going to use a Carnifex and a whole buttload of greenstuff. I am also going to put it on the large oval base. I just want to make sure that all my 6 wound MCs are on the same base. I am going to post a bunch of "in progress" pictures as well :)

Nice, I've actually started looking at your blog a lot recently :S Lots of good stuff.
Your 2k list looks super mean. Have you play tested it a bunch with the 2 mawlocs in?

Yeah, I have playtested it a bunch of times now with 2 mawlocs, and I have to say they are a lot better when running in pairs. Killing them both off before they either "hit and run" towards something they can devour (see tanks) or are able to reburrow is a pretty brutal task. i am going to practice my "flank overload" style of playing and try to use the Trygon tunnel (I am even going to make a marker for it since I ALWAYS forget he makes it lol).

You know I have never heard of that before list before? I went and checked it out and apparently I am on it 3 different lists lol. Weird. Congrats on your win at the painting competition btw :)
