After another week of work he is finally finished. Really happy how this one turned out. I did quite a few extra layers on all the shading and high-lighting over and above what I normally do (he IS a Warlock after all lol). He is probably the next best painted model after the Axer.
I know you are looking at him thinking "Ghoulio...just how big IS he?". Well dear reader I will show you!

Tallarn for FoF
Rather than buy the newest 40k, I have decided that my Tallarn force would make a great irregular force for Force on Force/Tomorrow's War.
That said, I also went out and bought a Baneblade on Ebay because I just want to have a MONSTER tank in case another sci fi rules come along that allow such a behemoth.
But anyway, also on ebay, I bought a few items that were for relative cheap, and I thought why not?
First up, when I think Tallarn, I think either Sentinels or Dune Buggies. GW doesn't make Dune Buggies, but i-Kore Void did before they went out of business, so I picked up a couple.
In 40k I would treat these as Sentinels, but in FoF/TW I would count them as Technicals.
These of course will require some modification. I have several Tallarn Heavy Weapon teams available (image from ebay) that aren't going to do anything:
The gunner comes in two parts, torso and feet. So the completed dude can act as a driver for one of the buggies.
I will post progress of these conversions as I get them done (slowly). Still have to finish my Warmachine stuff.
My other purchase on ebay was to buy some Rough Riders. I know what gamewise they might not be great, but this was only $10 per ForgeWorld Tallarn Rider and so I freaked out and bought 5 of them directly from China. I LOVE the look of these guys even if they aren't going to do well in 40k. Will also probably have to replace their spears with brass rod. Anyway, excited to paint these guys up.

Taking a torso and adding some Persian 28mm fig legs (also bought on ebay), would give him legs to stand on. They will also serve as legs for my Forgeworld Tallarn Tank Commander.

Slag Troll...Complete!
I have broken up Troll army into different groups and I am trying to finish one group at a time. The first group I have finished are my Warbeasts. This is the second last beast I finished with the last being Mulg the Ancient which I will post later this week. I have to say despite loving his rules he just might be one of the ugliest figs I have ever painted. His proportions are just stupid and his posing is beyond horrendous. He is definitely one of the "Old Guard" for Privateer Press as all the newer stuff is light-years better.
I wanted to try a few new things on this guy since he is supposed to be oozing acid. I picked up the new GW Technical Paint "Nurgle's Rot". I gotta say I am super impressed with it. It was super easy to use and gave a great effect. I used it around all the rock formations to make it look like the acid was literally oozing out of him. I also did him up fairly monochromatic and then went back with a few layers of purple ink for the shading pass in hopes of adding a bit of colour. He is still ugly, but now hopefully in a good way :)

Kithkar Complete!
Another quick update of stuff I have finished in the last month. I have to say this fig is in my top 3 faves for all of Warmachine. Dont know why really, just love the posing and the overall style. His legs are insanely small, with a massive upper body. The thing I am noticing painting trolls that span the last 8 years or so (by that I mean sculpted in the last 8 years) is that the newer stuff is noticeably bigger. The Kithkar is the same size as the Impaler or Axer for example.

Impaler Finished!
Just a quick update of another one of the beasts I have finished recently, the Impaler. I actually had finished this guy a while ago, just never got around to posting any pics. I also got a bit more work on "Bearka" last night so hopefully by Monday I will have something to post.

Horgle Ironstrike...Blacksmith of the Stars!
Both Horgle and Epic Borka were pretty close to being complete with this guy being further along, so I figured I would just hunker down and finish him. Like almost all the Troll figs to date Horgle was another really fun one. My fave part of this fig is how the sword turned out. I painted it just by doing a whole lot of light layers, then I went back with some ink (black and red mixed 50/50) and painted in the runes, with a final black ink layer right along the base of the sword where it meets the hilt. Sorry for the crappy pics, I cant seem to find my light box and my lighting system needs some new bulbs.

"Bearka" WIP #1
A friend of mine recently managed to snag an advanced release of Trollsbloods newest badass, Epic Borka! This is one of the models I have been looking forward to getting for ages. Love everything about it lol. I wanted to try a few new things with this guy, specifically the blood effects. I am fairly happy with how it turned out. I should have Borka himself finished by this weekend so I will post a few more pics.

Temple Flameguard Test
Have been trying to paint up my new unit of plastic Temple Flameguard. They are *mostly* done, but figured I'd put up the first test guy to make sure I'd like how they'd turn out. I do, although still haven't mastered Menoth white yet. All in all a nice simple fig. They'll make great 'jack fodder.
Yes yes, no bases I know. Once the big Kahuna (Judicator) and the rest of the deliverers are done, I'll base the entire army in one go.

Troll War Wagon...Finished!
Despite not having posted anything in quite a while I have actually been very busy painting. My family was away for almost 2 weeks so I ended up painting 2-3 hours ever night and most of the days on the weekend. I finished 2 full units (1 for Trolls and 1 for Retribution of Scyrah), some beasts and a few solos. Felt really good to make a dent into my Warmachine Projects. I am now roughly 50% done the Trolls which is great. All my beasts are done, the Battle Engine is finished and almost all my solos are finished (just two more). After that I am going to alternate painting the Warcasters and units.
Here are some shots of the finished War Wagon. I can't find my usual lighting display so sadly shots with the phone on my kitchen counter will have to do.
Here is a quick group shot of what the army looks like to date (48 models total).
